Injection mold & component machining process

The processing steps of injection mold accessories mainly include core processes such as mold design, material preparation, mold manufacturing, injection molding, finishing treatment, quality inspection, and packaging and shipping.

 

1. Plastic Injection Mold Design


Based on the product structure and functional requirements, use CAD/UG and other software for 3D modeling to determine key structures such as parting surfaces, cooling systems, and ejection mechanisms, and optimize the filling effect through mold flow analysis.
Material preparation
Select suitable mold steel (such as P20, 718, H13) and plastic raw materials (such as PP, ABS, PC), and complete steel pretreatment (stress relief annealing, pre-hardening) and plastic drying treatment.


2. Plastic injection Mold and spare parts manufacturing


CNC machining: using CNC milling to complete the rough and fine machining of the mold frame and mold core
Electric discharge machining (EDM): used for machining complex cavities or narrow grooves
Wire cutting (WEDM): Processing precision holes or small structures
Surface treatment: including polishing, chrome plating, nitriding, etc. to enhance wear resistance and demolding performance


3. Assembly and Debugging


Assemble the mold core, guide column, ejector pin, cooling water channel and other components according to the drawings to ensure smooth movement without jamming, and conduct preliminary functional testing.


4. Trial molding and optimization


Conduct trial production on the injection molding machine to check for issues such as material shortage, flash, shrinkage marks, and warping. Adjust process parameters or repair molds based on product feedback.


5. Injection molding production


Heating and melting plastic particles, injecting them into the mold cavity under high pressure, cooling and shaping them, and then opening the mold to remove the product, achieving mass production.


6. Repair and post-processing


Surface decoration processes such as deburring, polishing, ultrasonic cleaning, spraying or screen printing.


7. Quality inspection


Conduct comprehensive inspections on dimensional accuracy, appearance defects, mechanical performance, etc. to ensure compliance with customer standards.


8. Packaging and Shipping


Pack qualified products with dust-proof packaging, label them, and ship them according to the order.
The entire process requires strict control of parameters such as temperature, pressure, and time, with an accuracy of ± 10 μ m. It is widely used in fields such as automotive, electronics, and medical. Injection mold parts processing procedure
